第201回例会レポート

第201回例会は大阪の歴史博物館で開催されました。ニュージーランドの学生さん14歳～17歳の8名と先生2人。日本は16名の方々です。柳田会長のご挨拶に始まり、呉橋事務局長の指導で連凧作りです。それぞれ凧に墨やマジックで字や絵を書きました。その後ニュージーランドの方々と日本人で3名程のグループを作り博物館内を見学に行きました。呉橋事務局長はじめ4名の方々は残って連凧作り。ご苦労様でした。
連凧ができ上がりすぐ近くの難波宮跡公園で凧あげです。晴天なのはいいのですが、風もあまりなく、４０程ある連凧が上がるのか少し心配でしたが、何回かトライの後上がった時はとてもうれしいでした。バンザイです。ニュージーランドの生徒さんが走り回って長い間とばしてくれました。その後ダンスの石野先生の指導で、ヨサコイ音頭を皆で踊りました。エクササイズもできてましまいました。
その後天満のお好み焼き屋さんまで大阪城公園の中を通って歩いていき楽しい食事となりました。なごやかな食事の後、皆さん日本語と英語で一言。ニュージーランドの皆様の楽しい旅行を祈りながらおひらきとなりました。
Sunday – first stop – Moeka’s house – hi Moeka … Moeka was a student at THS in 2006 and it was good to see her again – we all stayed at her house on the Sunday and Monday nights, so we dropped all our bags off there on the Sunday morning.
Then Mak came and picked us up and we went to the Osaka Museum of History, with members of the New Zealand Society of Japan,Kansai and a few ex-New Zealand Japanese high school students. That was interesting and fun to see great views of Osaka Castle out the window and learn about the origins and history of Osaka and fill in the question pamphlet, do jigsaws and get dressed up in olden day clothes and walk olden-time streets – although we ran out of time.
Before we went into the museum we each, along with the NZ Society members, drew on a kite. Then, after seeing the museum and meeting three members of the ‘Yosakoi’ dancing group who we had met during our 2006 visit, we went into the Osaka Castle Park and flew the kite. That was really spectacular – thanks must go to Mak and everyone who put the kite together and Travis, who ran around the park with the kite to make sure it would stay up in the air.
After the kite-flying we did some Yasokoi dancing – well, some of us did – the others were too ‘chicken’. Then we sang our song
Then it was tea time – Okonomiyaki – our favourite – we make it in class about four times a year at home in NZ.

いよいよ公園で連凧揚げ。
うまく揚がるかな….。
残念ながら写真はありませんが、トラビス君が走り回ってくれたおかげで見事に連凧は空に舞いました！
無事に凧が揚がり、よさこい踊りで盛り上がって、やれやれ。
タウマルヌイ高校に留学していた堀さんも加わって、お礼に「涙そうそう」を歌ってくれました。
締めくくりは大阪が誇るお好み焼き。イアン先生もうれしそう。
